Janina Ede - Nevil Shute artwork

Nevil Shute's novel The Rainbow and the Rose was first published in 1958. A Heron edition was published in 1969 which included seven illustrations by Janina Ede. Below are shown sketches, roughs and alternative versions for some of these illustrations, alongside the published versions.

Janina Ede - Artist's Bibliography

This section is a work in progress. Whilst other posts deal mainly with artworks in the collection this section will attempt to list all of Janina Ede's published output. If I add at least one book a day it should be completed in a year but hopefully it won't take quite that long! Many of the older entries were copied from the list of works listed in Something About the Author Vol.33 (1983). I have subsequently discovered that some of the dates given in that publication were not very accurate. I am trying to correct these as I go along but if anyone notices an incorrect date please let me know.
